WE’RE BACK

After a couple of month hiatus, we’re back up and on-line.  Sorry for any inconvenience that our absence might have caused you, but the only excuse we can offer is the old proverbial saying:  “Too many irons in the fire.”

TOURS-2010 TO BEGIN

Our annual tours of company locations will kick-off the week of August 2 with our visiting Region IV.  These negotiated visits allow the Union’s Officers to meet with members and find out if there are any issues that need to be presented to the company and addressed. In accordance with the process, all questions will be submitted by the Union after the tours, and the company must respond to them, in writing, within 40 calendar days.  Responses are grievable if the Union does not agree with any contract interpretations that might arise from the responses.  So please, make an effort to attend a meeting in your area and show an interest in your Union.

REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL TENTATIVELY SET

The annual Representative Council has been tentatively scheduled for October 7 & 8, probably at the Wingate, Bridgeport, WV. Since this is not a contract year, the time will be dedicated to panel discussions and Council business.  All Representatives need to mark their calendars for these dates.  As a Rep, it’s your obligation to attend the Council to represent the members in your District.

DRIVE TO ZERO

We plan to run a folder on our web site dedicated to publishing the monthly newsletters from the area safety committees. We felt it was a good idea to publish them so that all members could review them via our web page.  Newsletters should be available for review in the very near future.
